Krakow, Poland, March 2022

In March 2022, I traveled to Krakow, Poland to speak to Ukrainians fleeing the Russian invasion. Women and children, along with their pets, streaming into the train station. There were stories of reunion, heartbreak, and resilience as people were facing uncertain futures, as well as stories of strangers helping strangers, a skeptical country opening their borders to refugees, and optimism in tragedy.
